Payroll Specialist

About the role

DHL is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join its Costa Rica team within the HR Services function. You will support Global Business Services by handling payroll, data management, and time‑and‑attendance activities for LATAM countries, while acting as a key point of contact for associates and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor team members and provide task‑resolution support.
• Respond accurately to payroll‑related questions via multiple channels.
• Serve as the initial escalation point for payroll issues and execute approved corrections.
• Deliver training and coaching sessions to team members and stakeholders.
• Monitor, assign, and track tickets using the ticketing system.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives for HR and payroll processes.
• Prepare payroll metrics for senior‑leadership meetings (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Create queries and reports as needed and deliver workshops on system requirements.
• Enter payroll data accurately and efficiently.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
• 2‑5 years of payroll/HR experience in a multinational environment.
• Proven experience with Costa Rica payroll and HR processes; LATAM exposure is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle processes.
• English proficiency at minimum B1 level.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Data analysis and reporting capabilities.
• Knowledge of Power Apps and Power Automate.
• Familiarity with AI‑driven solutions.
