Operation Support Manager – Orthopedics

About the role

The Operation Support Manager will lead performance management for the value‑stream team at the Costa Rica DS Site, ensuring safety, quality, compliance and cost‑control across Orthopedics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage performance indicators in line with the Johnson & Johnson Production System and site performance goals, including goal decomposition and data analysis.
• Lead program management for value‑stream structure, operator asset care, and performance improvement projects.
• Oversee inspection team operations, process inspections, deviation investigations and continuous improvement initiatives such as CAPA handling.
• Provide administrative support for the operations team, including data collection, onboarding, attendance, overtime, benefits support and material procurement.
• Communicate business issues or opportunities to senior management and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.

Required profile

• University bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, materials, automation) – master’s preferred.
• 6‑8 years of supply‑chain or manufacturing experience, preferably in medical devices.
• Proven team‑management and project‑management experience, with lean manufacturing background.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory compliance and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Fluent English for daily work.

Required skills

• Lean manufacturing practices (green‑belt/black‑belt certification preferred).
• Six Sigma tools and methods.
• Project‑management certifications (e.g., FPX, RCPS, A3).
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance.
• Agile manufacturing, analytics insights, program management, supply‑chain optimization, process improvement.
