Operation Support Manager – Orthopedics

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is separating its Orthopedics business into a standalone company, DePuy Synthes. The Operation Support Manager will lead performance management for the value‑stream team at the Costa Rica DS site, ensuring safety, quality, compliance and cost control during and after the transition.

Key responsibilities

• Manage performance indicators for the value‑stream team in line with the Johnson & Johnson Production System and Site Performance metrics.
• Lead program management for value‑stream structure advancement, operator asset care, and performance‑specific improvement projects.
• Oversee inspection team operations, data analysis, deviation investigations and continuous‑improvement initiatives such as inspection optimisation and CAPA handling.
• Provide administrative support for the operations team, including data collection, onboarding, attendance, overtime, benefits and procurement of production materials.

Required profile

• University bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, materials, automation) – master’s preferred.
• 6‑8 years of supply‑chain or manufacturing experience, preferably in medical devices.
• Proven team‑management and project‑management experience, with lean manufacturing background.
• Fluency in English and strong problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Lean manufacturing practices and green‑belt/black‑belt certification.
• Six Sigma tools and methods.
• GMP and medical‑device compliance mindset.
• Project‑management certifications (e.g., FPX, RCPS, A3).
• Proficiency in data analysis and digital performance management tools.
