Operation Support Manager – Orthopedics

About the role

The Operation Support Manager will lead the performance of the value‑stream team at the Costa Rica DS Site, ensuring safe, high‑quality, and cost‑effective operations for the Orthopedics business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage performance indicators for the value‑stream team in line with the Johnson & Johnson Production System and Site Performance framework.
• Lead inspection teams, analyse production data, and drive compliance, CAPA handling and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Provide administrative support for the operations team, including data collection, onboarding, attendance, overtime and benefits administration.
• Coordinate cross‑functional resources (safety, quality, engineering, logistics, finance, facilities) to ensure smooth performance‑management processes.

Required profile

• University degree in engineering (mechanical, materials, automation) – master’s preferred.
• 6‑8 years of supply‑chain or manufacturing experience, preferably in medical devices.
• Proven team‑leadership and project‑management experience, with lean manufacturing exposure.
• Fluent English; ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (green‑belt/black‑belt preferred).
• GMP and medical‑device compliance knowledge.
• Project‑management tools and certifications (e.g., FPX, RCPS, A3).
• Digital performance‑management technologies and value‑stream mapping.
• Analytical skills for data‑driven improvement and reporting.
