Network Support Engineer

About the role

The Network Support Engineer will work in a hybrid model, spending about two days per week at the HPE office in Heredia, Costa Rica. You will support large‑scale Juniper Networks environments for high‑priority HPE customers, providing expert troubleshooting and white‑glove service.

Key responsibilities

• Handle high‑priority issues on Juniper MX, PTX, and ACX platforms for top HPE customers.
• Build trust‑based relationships with assigned accounts and take ownership of critical incidents.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams, service managers, and Juniper product groups to drive issue resolution and product improvements.
• Participate in customer calls and face‑to‑face meetings, and contribute to technical documentation such as white papers and knowledge base articles.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in network support, including 2‑3 years on large IP networks and direct customer interaction.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and presentation skills.

Required skills

• IP networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnetting, OSI layers.
• Routing protocols: OSPF, IS‑IS, BGP, MPLS, RSVP‑TE, L3VPN, L2VPN.
• Preferred: EVPN, SR‑MPLS, SRv6.
• Experience with traffic generators (Ixia, Spirent), TCP replay tools, and protocol analysis.
• Operating systems: Linux, FreeBSD; scripting: Shell, Python, Slax, Perl.
