National Program Manager

About the role

The National Program Manager (NPM) acts as the strategic bridge between HFHI’s LAC Area Office and the network’s National Offices. The role ensures that national realities, priorities, and capacities inform regional decisions while translating global strategy, resources, and standards back to the National Offices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain up‑to‑date strategic context analyses for each National Office, integrating programmatic, financial, governance and organizational capacity dimensions.
• Facilitate the identification and formalisation of joint priorities with national leadership, establishing a shared management framework.
• Participate in national reflection forums and planning cycles, providing regional and global perspectives and highlighting alignment with organisational strategy.
• Escalate strategic misalignments to decision‑making bodies, offering analysis and options.
• Coordinate representation at National Office governance bodies, ensuring two‑way visibility and supporting board strengthening processes.
• Assist with leadership succession planning and maintain up‑to‑date organisational risk assessments, monitoring mitigation plans and escalating critical issues.
• Monitor implementation of governance and business continuity requirements, including compliance with HFHI standards and donor commitments.

Required profile

• Extensive experience advising senior leadership in national or regional humanitarian/health networks.
• Strong understanding of strategic planning, governance structures, risk management and financial oversight.
• Proven ability to act as a knowledge broker and facilitator of cross‑office exchanges.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to translate complex information for diverse stakeholders.
