About the role

Cargill is seeking a qualified Corporate Medical Doctor to provide comprehensive on‑site health services for its workforce in Heredia, Costa Rica. The professional will act as the primary health authority, ensuring compliance with local occupational health regulations while promoting preventive care and overall employee well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver daily outpatient medical consultations, treat common illnesses, manage minor injuries, and follow up on chronic or temporary health conditions.
• Design, coordinate, and implement health promotion and disease‑prevention programs for the employee population.
• Oversee medical assessments, disability management, return‑to‑work processes, and support employees with special medical needs.
• Identify occupational risk factors and collaborate with relevant departments to implement preventive measures.
• Conduct pre‑employment medical examinations and issue clinical criteria according to company guidelines.
• Serve as the technical representative of the corporate clinic before the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS), ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Analyze occupational health data, produce reports, indicators, and executive presentations with recommendations based on medical and epidemiological trends.
• Plan and coordinate vaccination campaigns, health‑education programs, and healthy‑habit initiatives aligned with organizational needs.
• Maintain clinical documentation, medical records, and regulatory files with strict confidentiality and legal compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Medicine or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of one year of directly related work experience in occupational or corporate health.
• Strong knowledge of Costa Rican health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
