Mechanical Engineer (FreeCAD) | Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in FreeCAD to join our remote team on a contract basis. The role involves creating, modifying, and validating detailed parametric CAD models for a variety of mechanical projects, ensuring they meet design and manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD according to project specifications.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies using best practices for component integration.
• Apply GD&T and Design for Manufacturing principles to guarantee manufacturability and quality.
• Generate clear technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings to identify and resolve issues.
• Utilize Python scripting to automate repetitive or complex CAD tasks.

Required profile

• Strong experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or industrial engineering with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
• Solid understanding of GD&T, DFM, and mechanical design fundamentals.
• Proven ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation.
• Experience performing engineering QA and verifying model integrity.
• Python scripting skills for CAD automation are highly advantageous.

What we offer
