Manufacturing Engineer 2

About the role

MedPlast is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 2 to join its Heredia site (Zona Franca Metropolitana). The role supports engineering and technical needs across the campus, driving process improvements, new equipment implementation, and product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to assembly, printing, quality, and special‑project areas to improve process performance.
• Design and implement fixturing, tooling, and manufacturing methodologies that increase efficiency.
• Analyze current manufacturing methods, identify non‑value‑added steps, and prototype new processes.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques such as 5S, waste elimination, value‑stream mapping, Kaizen, error proofing, one‑piece flow, set‑up reduction, Kanban, and balanced workflow.
• Lead process‑improvement projects focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Support product launches, process transfers, relocations, and changes.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, FDA, ISO regulations, and MedPlast’s EHS initiatives.
• Drive investigations for non‑conformances, CAPA actions, and audit findings.

Required profile

• Proven experience providing engineering support in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of GMP, SOP, FDA and ISO quality standards.
• Ability to design fixtures, tooling, and work‑station layouts.
