Manager Corporate Accounting

About the role

Lonza is seeking a Manager Corporate Accounting to lead global accounting governance and drive standardisation across its international finance organisation. Based in San José, Costa Rica, you will work with finance teams worldwide to harmonise processes, support business integrations and ensure high‑quality financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Govern the global Chart of Accounts, simplifying and standardising its use across the enterprise.
• Review and approve creation and maintenance of general‑ledger accounts in partnership with Global Master Data teams.
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, standards and governance requirements.
• Oversee global account reconciliation policy, identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Act as subject‑matter expert, advising finance teams, process owners and project stakeholders worldwide.
• Support finance transformation programmes, process‑harmonisation initiatives, S/4HANA implementations and business integration projects.
• Develop training, communication and change‑management materials to enable adoption of new accounting processes and systems.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; advanced degree advantageous.
• Strong experience in operational/financial accounting or shared‑services environments.
• Deep knowledge of IFRS and global accounting best practices.
• Extensive experience with SAP FI/CO and end‑to‑end integration across AR/AP, asset accounting, procurement, sales, production and projects (SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA).
• Proven ability to lead complex cross‑functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Professional accounting qualifications (CPA, CIMA, SAP FI/CO certification) are a plus.
