Manager, Accounting

About the role

The Manager, Accounting role sits within the Record to Report team of Thermo Fisher Scientific's Global Business Services Shared Service Centre. You will lead a finance team responsible for accurate US GAAP reporting across multiple North American entities generating over $10 billion in revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee timely and accurate US GAAP financial reporting for the AIG North America region.
• Mentor, coach and develop a team of six finance professionals, fostering a performance‑first culture.
• Serve as primary contact for project and initiative inquiries, collaborating with other finance functions.
• Facilitate monthly business reviews and communicate balance‑sheet analyses to stakeholders.
• Ensure SOX compliance and completion of control measures without exception.
• Drive operational excellence and promote a PPI culture to meet annual productivity targets.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (CPA or equivalent) with at least 6 years of accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years of people‑management experience, demonstrating ability to lead and develop teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• High accuracy, attention to detail and a proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.
