Legal Counsel – Contracts & Compliance

About the role
As a Legal Counsel you will lead a team responsible for contract management, ensuring compliance with processes, handling escalations, and delivering high‑quality legal work products. You will support global operations, particularly for US and EU time zones, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a legal team, monitor KPIs/SLAs, and meet defined targets.
- Draft, negotiate, redline, abstract, and summarize IT and procurement contracts.
- Review contract provisions, assess industry‑specific risks, and ensure alignment with global standards.
- Support corporate legal requirements such as information security, IP compliance, and data privacy.
- Create standard operating procedures, workflows, and training materials.
- Conduct legal research and leverage CLM platforms and AI/automation tools.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in legal contract management.
- Strong analytical, reasoning, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under defined KPIs, manage multiple tasks, and motivate a team.
- Work authorization for Costa Rica without employer sponsorship.
Required skills
- Proficiency with CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) platforms.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Exposure to artificial intelligence or automation tools for legal processes.
