Junior Buyer – Direct Procurement

About the role
Huntsman is looking for a Junior Buyer to support its Global Business Services in San Jose, Costa Rica. Reporting to the Direct Procurement Team Lead, you will manage the purchase‑to‑pay cycle, ensure order accuracy, and act as the daily operational link between purchasing and multiple manufacturing sites.
Key responsibilities
- Execute the purchase‑to‑pay process: create purchase orders, confirm orders, and resolve invoice disputes.
- Support logistics and operational activities to meet demand and company targets.
- Maintain purchasing data, including pricing, supplier information, and order profiles.
- Collaborate with the commercial purchasing team and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and propose process‑improvement opportunities for automation and efficiency.
- Provide status updates on purchased goods and services to internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and security standards.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration or related field (or internal waiver).
- Minimum 6 months of relevant procurement or supply‑chain experience.
- Basic understanding of procurement and purchasing processes.
- Unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.
- Availability to work on‑site Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (additional days as needed).
- English proficiency at B2 level.
