Junior Appeals Collector

About the role

The Junior Appeals Collector is responsible for following up on all appeals submitted to payers, ensuring timely payment and resolution. This role supports the revenue cycle by securing outstanding payments from both payers and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Pursue additional payment on open appeals via phone, online portals, or payment package processes.
• Overcome objections that prevent claim payment and secure commitment using concise, factual collection techniques.
• Escalate accounts to appropriate payer contacts and SSC management when responses are delayed.
• Communicate trends and insights to management.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all actions taken on each account.
• Meet productivity and quality standards set by the organization.
• Complete all required educational modules and adhere to the company’s Code of Conduct and Mission statements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written) at C1 level or higher.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service role.
• Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high‑volume environment.
• Attention to detail and comfort with multitasking.
• Professional presentation and a polite, tactful demeanor.
