Industrial Engineer – Warehouse Automation & Operational Technology

About the role

The Industrial Engineer supports the Warehouse Automation & Operational Technology (AOT) agenda by designing, validating, and integrating advanced automation solutions for high‑performance warehouses worldwide. This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused position that works closely with cross‑functional teams to translate operational needs into reliable, scalable technology implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and integrate OT and automation solutions such as sorters, PTL, AGV/AMR, AS/RS, and robotics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand warehouse processes and shape automation concepts.
• Generate and validate technical scopes of work for automation tenders and vendor proposals.
• Lead engineering validation activities and ensure solutions meet functional and performance KPIs.
• Interpret layouts, process flows, and technical drawings to define system requirements.

Required profile

• Strong execution and delivery capabilities in integration and engineering roles.
• Hands‑on knowledge of warehouse logistics, material handling equipment, and automation environments.
• Ability to translate end‑to‑end warehouse flows into automation designs and infrastructure sizing.
• Understanding of network architecture (WAN, WLAN, LAN) and OT device ecosystems.
• Proven experience designing, pricing, and implementing warehouse automation solutions.

Required skills

• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Warehouse Control/Execution Systems (WCS, WES).
• Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), SCADA, HMI concepts.
• ISA‑95 communication guidelines.
• Automation technologies: sortation systems, Pick‑to‑Light (PTL), AGV, AMR, AS/RS, robotics.
• Network architecture (WAN, WLAN, LAN) and OT devices (handhelds, printers, RFID).
