Immigration Data Specialist

About the role

Amazon’s Immigration team is looking for a Data Specialist to serve as the subject‑matter expert for immigration data. You will ensure data quality, compliance, and consistency across a global, multi‑vendor program while supporting internal stakeholders and external providers.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for immigration data within Amazon, internal teams, and third‑party providers.
• Liaise with 3P providers through regular calls and offline discussions to define data and file format requirements.
• Troubleshoot data defects, determine root causes, and drive resolution.
• Provide business requirements to Data Engineers for ETL enhancements and advise technical partners on proper data usage.
• Design and implement controls to improve data integrity, completeness, reliability, and accuracy.
• Identify and contextualize data within immigration journeys, coordinating with regional experts as needed.
• Analyze business processes to create datasets that support natural‑language queries.
• Partner with Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Engineers to develop visualizations and improve data pipelines.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in immigration data and related compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to work with external vendors and internal cross‑functional teams.
• Experience designing data quality controls and standards.
• Ability to prioritize deliverables to maximize impact across global operations.
