Human Resources Manager

About the role

The client, a leading medical‑device manufacturer in the Coyol Free Zone, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the site’s HR function and act as a strategic partner to the Site Leader and leadership team. The role goes beyond traditional HR administration, requiring a hands‑on leader who understands manufacturing operations, talent development and employee engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the HR function for the Costa Rica operation, partnering with senior leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning and talent strategy.
• Identify organizational, leadership, retention and capacity risks and develop action plans.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, development and retention initiatives.
• Coach managers and supervisors to strengthen leadership capability, accountability and employee engagement.
• Conduct talent reviews, succession planning, career development and key‑position risk assessments.
• Use HR metrics and employee feedback to spot trends, root causes and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with Costa Rican labour legislation, medical‑device regulations, company policies and corporate HR standards.
• Lead and develop the local HR team and manage external HR service providers.
• Support organizational change, business growth, new programs and workforce transformation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Psychology or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years supporting manufacturing operations.
• 3+ years in an HR leadership or senior HR Business Partner role.
• Strong knowledge of Costa Rican labour legislation and employee relations.
• Proven experience in organizational development, workforce planning, talent management, recruitment, retention and change management.
• Experience coaching managers and senior leaders and handling complex employee situations.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1 or equivalent).
