Global Accounting Accountant – Cash Center of Excellence

About the role

Pfizer is seeking a skilled Accountant to join its Global Accounting Cash Center of Excellence (CoE). In this role you will support the financial operations that keep our medicines moving efficiently from production to patients worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other accounting schedules.
• Update journals, ledgers, and related financial records for all business transactions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting and auditing policies, including Sarbanes‑Oxley internal controls.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures and internal control documentation.
• Participate in month‑end close activities and support external audit and corporate audit analyses.
• Maintain organized supporting documentation and work instructions for compliance purposes.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Familiarity with Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) control requirements and internal audit documentation.
• Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines and deliver high‑quality results.
• Effective communication skills to explain complex financial issues and build consensus across teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting systems and financial software.
• Advanced Excel or spreadsheet analysis capabilities.
