Firewall Analyst Engineer

About the role

IBM Consulting is seeking a Firewall Analyst Engineer to help clients design, implement, and evaluate security controls across hybrid cloud and on‑premise environments. You will work closely with client teams to translate business requirements into robust security solutions that balance enablement and protection.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and define security control objectives.
• Design and implement next‑generation firewall solutions (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortigate, Juniper SRX).
• Create security deliverables such as asset classification models, risk analysis reports, and policy documents.
• Assess the effectiveness of deployed controls and recommend improvements.
• Conduct security awareness workshops and promote a security‑first culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with IP address planning, subnetting, and network troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with security control design and implementation processes.
