Fire Application Engineer I

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Application Engineer I to support Sales & Engineering teams on pre‑sales and post‑sales projects. The role involves technical activities such as takeoffs, drawings, bill of materials, and design for fire alarm and related systems.

Key responsibilities

• Support Request for Proposals by preparing takeoffs, bill of materials, and pricing.
• Create pre‑design, shop, submittal, and as‑built drawings based on client standards after site surveys.
• Produce post‑sales design drawings and complete engineering packages for medium and high‑complexity projects.
• Provide technical assistance to internal and external engineering teams throughout project lifecycles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• Intermediate proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Professional communication skills in English (B2 level or higher).
• Willingness to learn fire alarm system design codes and equipment.

Required skills

• AutoCAD
• Revit (preferred)
• Basic knowledge of fire alarm and security systems (access control, video, intrusion)
• Understanding of building automation principles
• Low‑voltage electrical schematics and diagrams
