Fire Alarm Engineer I

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer I to support both pre‑sales and post‑sales engineering activities across a range of projects. You will work closely with sales and engineering teams to develop accurate takeoffs, drawings, and design packages that meet client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in Request for Proposals by preparing takeoffs, bill of materials, and pricing.
• Create pre‑design, shop, submittal, and as‑built drawings based on site surveys and client specifications.
• Develop post‑sales design drawings and complete engineering packages for medium to high‑complexity projects.
• Provide technical support to internal and external engineering teams throughout project lifecycles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• 0‑2 years of experience in engineering‑related activities.
• Strong ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Professional communication skills in English (minimum B2 level).
• Willingness to learn fire‑alarm system design codes and related equipment.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of fire‑alarm and security systems (access control, video, intrusion).
• Understanding of building automation principles.
• Familiarity with low‑voltage electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Revit experience is a significant plus.
