Facilities and Maintenance Manager

About the role

Lead the Facilities and Maintenance strategy for ArthroCare Costa Rica, ensuring reliable, available, and high‑performing assets, infrastructure, and critical building systems. The role focuses on preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance while meeting quality, hygiene, validation, FDA and ISO requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and oversee preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs for production equipment and critical facilities.
• Lead and manage the Facilities and Maintenance team, set priorities, supervise performance and foster talent development.
• Ensure equipment and facility availability through timely maintenance, spare‑part management and execution of shutdown plans.
• Coordinate installation, transfer, startup and maintenance of production equipment with Production, Quality and Engineering teams.
• Manage plant infrastructure including HVAC, electrical, compressed air and other utilities, ensuring regulatory and safety compliance.
• Maintain compliance with the Quality Management System, handling calibrations, investigations and audit support.
• Plan, control and monitor operating and capital budgets for equipment, tools and assets.
• Oversee supplier, contractor and consultant relationships, including procurement and maintenance contracts.
• Organise technical training programs for proper operation and maintenance of equipment and systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities and industrial maintenance management.
• Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance methodologies.
• Familiarity with FDA, ISO and other regulatory requirements for medical‑device manufacturing.
• Leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage budgets, supplier contracts and cross‑functional projects.
