Director of Environment, Health & Safety

About the role

Confluent Medical Technologies is seeking an experienced leader to head its Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) function at its Costa Rica site. The Director will shape and execute a proactive, scalable EHS strategy that supports rapid growth while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the site EHS strategy, management system, and continuous‑improvement roadmap.
• Serve as the EHS subject‑matter expert for corporate initiatives, risk management, and best‑practice adoption.
• Lead hazard identification, incident prevention, emergency preparedness, crisis management, and business continuity programs.
• Oversee environmental compliance, permitting, regulatory reporting, sustainability, waste reduction, energy management, and resource‑conservation initiatives.
• Direct industrial hygiene, ergonomics, occupational health, wellness, and contractor‑safety programs.
• Conduct EHS audits, inspections, risk assessments, and corrective‑action plans; act as primary liaison with regulators and external auditors.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, HR, Quality and other leaders to embed EHS into business decisions.
• Support facility expansions, equipment installations, and capital projects by integrating EHS requirements.
• Establish safety‑leadership expectations, accountability, and employee engagement to foster a safety‑first culture.

Required profile

• Executive‑level experience leading EHS programs in a manufacturing or medical‑device environment.
• Deep knowledge of environmental, occupational health, safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to build systems, culture and capabilities that scale with business growth.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration and communication skills.
