Director, Area Marketing – Central America

About the role

The Director, Area Marketing will lead consumer and partner marketing initiatives across Central America, shaping strategy, execution and measurement to drive business growth. This role aligns marketing programs with Mastercard’s purpose of powering economies and empowering people in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute consumer and partner marketing strategies, including advertising, promotions, sponsorships and market research, aligned with business priorities.
• Develop metrics and specifications to track program performance, analyze results and recommend corrective actions.
• Create and apply thought‑leadership content and communications internally and with partners, collaborating with division and regional teams as needed.
• Maintain budgetary responsibility for specific marketing programs and ensure effective tracking.
• Leverage deep category and ecosystem insights to influence partner agendas and apply insights strategically.
• Provide direction and coordinate deliverables with external vendors such as agencies and production partners.

Required profile

• Proven success building integrated marketing plans that leverage synergies across channels.
• Strong ability to establish collaborative relationships with global marketing counterparts and represent the local market voice.
• Experience across multiple marketing functions, including consumer and B2B marketing.
• Leadership of complex, cross‑functional projects from planning through execution.
• Track record of delivering results on multiple initiatives, prioritising effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders at the local level.
