About the role
Ulteig is seeking a Design Studies Engineer to perform Arc Flash and short‑circuit studies for renewable energy projects. The role supports wind, solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) owners and leverages Python scripting to improve study workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Perform short‑circuit and Arc Flash studies using ETAP, EasyPower, SKM and ArcPro.
- Provide technical support and study results to wind, solar and BESS generator owners.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate and streamline study processes.
- Independently manage workload and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET‑accredited) or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year in power‑system studies.
- EIT status or working toward EIT status.
- Permanent authorization to work in Costa Rica.
- Self‑starter with strong analytical and communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with ETAP, EasyPower, SKM and ArcPro.
- Python programming for automation.
- Short‑circuit and Arc Flash analysis expertise.
- Ability to present technical findings verbally and in writing.
