Data Steward

About the role

Smartsheet is seeking a Data Steward to support the productivity of its Sales organization. The role focuses on governing and improving the quality of data in the company’s source CRM system, maintaining data assets, and establishing processes that make data easy to find and understand for Sales reps.

Key responsibilities

• Lead changes and revisions to master data, metadata, data hierarchies, and affiliations within defined guidelines.
• Ensure the Sales organization works from a single, reliable source of truth that can be queried and accessed consistently.
• Perform initial data quality checks on extracted data and flag issues.
• Provide recommendations to leadership on updates to data governance policies, practices, and guidelines.
• Support the Sales analyst team with data scrubbing and investigation of reporting inconsistencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in metadata management or data stewardship.
• Experience with Cloud and SaaS go‑to‑market environments.
• Knowledge of data governance challenges and best practices for data quality.
• Ability to act as a conduit between Sales partners and the information they need.
• Residency in Costa Rica is required.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex functions.
• Experience with Salesforce.com or an equivalent CRM platform.
