Data Architect

About the role

IBM Consulting is seeking a Solution Architect specialized in Data Platforms to design end‑to‑end big data solutions for its global clients. You will work closely with customers to understand their data challenges and deliver cloud‑native, scalable architectures that drive business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Design comprehensive big data solutions across multiple platforms, applying industry standards and best practices.
• Lead the architecture of data platform and cognitive components, including unstructured data technologies and annotation pipelines.
• Manage large‑scale data repositories, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency using Hadoop, MapReduce and container‑based data services.
• Develop cloud‑native data solutions on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud or modern data‑stack platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and overseeing cloud‑native data platform architectures, especially Snowflake or Databricks.
• Hands‑on expertise implementing medallion architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and serverless data processing.

Required skills

• Snowflake (multi‑cluster, RBAC, Snowflake SQL, Native Apps)
• Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Apache Spark, MLflow)
• Hadoop ecosystem, MapReduce, containerized data workloads
• Major cloud platforms: AWS, Azure (ADLS Gen2, Synapse, Data Factory), Google Cloud, IBM Cloud
• Modern data‑stack tools: dbt, Fivetran, Informatica, Apache Airflow, Prefect, Dagster
