Customer Service Telecommunication Specialist I

About the role

Join Abbott’s contact centre in Aerocentro, Alajuela as a Customer Service Telecommunication Specialist I. You will support hospitals and emergency rooms when patients present with Abbott implanted pacemakers or defibrillators, ensuring critical information reaches the right sales representative quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls from hospital staff regarding emergency cases involving Abbott cardiac devices.
• Retrieve patient tracking data, record full contact details of the facility, and identify the responsible sales representative.
• Send concise case summaries via text to the appropriate sales representative and follow up with outbound confirmation calls.
• Triage calls using approved troubleshooting procedures and escalate to senior personnel when needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service, product support, IT, telecommunications, or a related field.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (C1 level).
• Office‑based work environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Basic knowledge of telephone and paging systems.
