Customer Service Coordinator

About the role

The Customer Service Coordinator works in Abbott’s Alajuela location within the CRM Division of the Medical Devices business. The role leads a team of Customer Service personnel, acting as the first‑level technical expert on SAP, Outlook, and internal order management tools.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, verify and process purchase orders and coordinate distribution of medical devices to hospitals, sales representatives and distributors.
• Research and resolve order issues, correct orders, and release them for posting.
• Communicate inventory shortages, shipping status and back‑order availability to sales representatives and customers.
• Follow up with sales reps/customers to obtain implant information, purchase order numbers and pricing to ensure accurate billing.
• Obtain approvals, issue and track returns and credits, and work with customers to expedite resolutions.

Required profile

• High school diploma; bachelor’s degree or at least 50 % university coursework plus 5 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer service role, with proven ability to meet or exceed expectations.
• Ability to travel approximately 10 % of the time, including international trips, and to work regular overtime.

Required skills

• SAP experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Outlook Email and internal Order Management Queue usage.
