Case Manager & Psychosocial Support (AVR)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking experienced professionals to join its Voluntary Assisted Return (AVR) team in Costa Rica. The role combines case management and psychosocial support for extra‑regional migrants returning from the United States and other American countries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive case management for AVR beneficiaries, from intake to reintegration.
• Deliver psychosocial support and counseling tailored to vulnerable populations.
• Maintain accurate case files, reports, and data entry in IOM systems.
• Coordinate activities with institutional partners, UN agencies, and local authorities.
• Support protection activities and ensure compliance with IOM policies and standards.
• Facilitate communication between beneficiaries and service providers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology and registration with the Professional Association of Psychologists.
• Minimum four years of experience working with vulnerable groups, preferably in humanitarian settings.
• Fluency in English (minimum B2 level); additional language skills (French, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, Portuguese) are an advantage.
• Experience in case management, protection activities, and coordination with UN counterparts.
• Strong written communication and ability to systematize information.
