Capital Markets Operational Program Consultant

About the role

The IDB Group is looking for a Capital Markets Operational Program Consultant to support the Regulation Focus Group within the Connectivity, Markets, and Finance Division. The consultant will work with a multidisciplinary team on capital markets regulation, financial sector policy, and capacity development for central banks and financial regulators across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate activities for the Regional Public Good RG‑T4880 and support the IDBpay initiative.
• Assist the IFD/CMF specialist team in delivering technical assistance on capital markets, banking, and financial sector regulation.
• Collaborate directly with regional financial authorities and provide technical support for drafting loan documents and other cooperation tasks.
• Collect, process, and analyze data to prepare academic and public policy documents.
• Prepare presentations, roadshow materials, and public policy agendas.
• Organize logistics for events and meetings related to IFD/CMF networks.
• Support administrative processes such as consultant hiring, deliverable oversight, and meeting coordination.
• Assist in the publication, translation, and dissemination of academic outputs.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, economics, law, or a related field.
• Experience in capital markets regulation, financial sector supervision, or public‑sector financial projects.
• Proven ability to work with central banks, financial regulators, and multilateral institutions.
• Strong analytical and communication skills in English.
