Buyer I – Procurement of Machined & Fabricated Components

About the role

The Buyer I is responsible for developing and managing Ascential Technologies' external supply chain for machined and fabricated components. Working closely with engineering and project teams, the role ensures that suppliers meet quality, delivery, and cost targets while supporting overall operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Procure fabricated components, materials, and services essential to operations.
• Manage purchase orders, expedite open orders, and handle reject dispositions and returns.
• Collaborate with engineering and suppliers to optimise part manufacturability.
• Provide timely and accurate pricing data for operations and quoting.
• Offer cross‑functional support to Purchasing and Shipping departments, adapting to workload demands.
• Maintain regular communication with project management, delivering schedule updates and risk assessments.
• Work with project teams to devise solutions for schedule delays or advances.
• Share knowledge, solve problems, and foster innovation within the team.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in purchasing components, vendor qualification, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation.
• Strong organisational, analytical, negotiation and contract‑management abilities.
• Demonstrated teamwork capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
• English level B2 or higher.
