Ayudante de Planta – Producción de Quesos

About the role

The Plant Assistant will support the cheese production line at the San Carlos plant, handling material movement, packaging, and basic cleaning tasks. This role ensures that raw materials and finished products are managed safely and efficiently to meet distribution schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload raw materials, intermediate goods, and finished products manually or using industrial equipment.
• Package finished cheese into boxes, baskets or sacks according to production line specifications for storage and distribution.
• Handle and store products and materials following established procedures to maintain quality and safety.
• Visually inspect finished goods for expiration dates, appearance and physical condition to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Perform manual cleaning of work areas, equipment and machinery to uphold good manufacturing practices and food safety.
• Transport cleaning chemicals safely, respecting occupational safety guidelines.
• Monitor machine alarms and connections to anticipate and prevent production failures.
• Apply food safety, quality, environmental, health and occupational safety regulations as required by the cooperative.
• Use assigned equipment and machinery responsibly to preserve its condition and functionality.
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor that contribute to production goals.

Required profile

• Completed primary education; secondary education is desirable.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
• Basic knowledge of good manufacturing practices and HACCP is preferred.
• At least six months of experience in operational tasks within the food industry is desirable.
