Associate Software Engineer

About the role

Moody's is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain large‑scale data pipelines. You will work on a modern lakehouse platform using Python, PySpark, and Databricks to deliver high‑quality data products that support risk analytics and AI‑driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operate Python and PySpark pipelines on Databricks notebooks, jobs, and workflows.
• Implement ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data quality, performance, and scalability.
• Utilize Delta Lake and Unity Catalog for reliable data storage and governance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile practices.
• Leverage cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for storage, compute, and orchestration.
• Apply AI tools to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience building data pipelines with Python and PySpark.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience in financial services, credit, or risk data is a plus.
