Associate Plumbing Designer – Costa Rica

About the role

The Associate Plumbing Designer will develop and coordinate plumbing system designs for large‑scale projects, handling flow calculations, equipment selection, and piping layouts while collaborating closely with mechanical and electrical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate optimal plumbing design solutions, balancing code compliance, client needs, and budget constraints.
• Provide design direction and support to team members, working directly with Revit/CAD technicians to ensure constructability and quality.
• Perform plumbing flow calculations, equipment sizing (water heaters, sump pumps, sewage ejectors, domestic hot‑water plants) and develop detailed piping layouts.
• Communicate effectively with customers, project teams, and inspecting authorities throughout the design process.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional plumbing design experience.
• Strong understanding of constructability and mechanical/plumbing design fundamentals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English; US visa a plus for travel.

Required skills

• Plumbing flow calculations and basic plumbing calculations.
• Equipment sizing (water heaters, sump pumps, sewage ejectors, domestic hot‑water plants).
• Piping layout and pipe‑sizing design.
• Proficiency with Revit/CAD tools.
• Knowledge of IPC, IMC, IBC, and ASHRAE codes.
• Blueprint and specification reading.
