Associate Estimator – Specialty Manufacturing

About the role

Join Power Design’s LFG Switchgear Manufacturing division as an Associate Estimator. This entry‑level position supports the quotation process for custom switchgear and electrical equipment projects, offering a fast‑paced environment to develop technical estimating skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Quotations Specialist with project setup, scope review, and documentation from start to finish.
• Review customer bid packages, drawings, specifications, and proposal documents to identify required materials and project requirements.
• Help build time, material, and labor estimates for LFG switchgear projects.
• Prepare professional quote packages, including labor summaries, material breakdowns, and proposal documentation.
• Request vendor pricing (RFQs), collect quotes, and organize pricing comparisons.
• Maintain estimating files, quote logs, historical pricing information, and supplier documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and sales teams to clarify project requirements and ensure bid accuracy.
• Support value‑engineering efforts by identifying cost‑saving opportunities or alternate equipment options.
• Assist in turnover preparation for awarded projects, handling documentation transfer and post‑award organization.

Required profile

• Motivated problem‑solver with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• 0–2 years of experience preferred in estimating, electrical distribution, construction, manufacturing, or project coordination.
• Ability to interpret technical information such as drawings, schedules, and equipment specifications (training provided).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and a professional customer‑service mindset.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; possession of a current U.S. visa and ability to travel internationally as needed.
