Associate Estimator

About the role

Power Design is seeking an ambitious Associate Estimator to support the growth of its Change Order department. In this role you will help produce accurate, timely, and competitive estimates for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work on multifamily and commercial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a regionally‑aligned estimating team, providing leadership, direction, and training as needed.
• Research market data and vendor pricing to develop complete and competitive bids.
• Perform lighting fixture, mechanical equipment, terminal device, and plumbing fixture counts by reviewing construction plans and blueprints.
• Communicate with customers to define project scope, address deficiencies, and negotiate pricing.
• Partner with construction teams to ensure smooth hand‑off of awarded projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred) or 3‑4 years of relevant field experience.
• At least 1 year of estimating experience in electrical, mechanical, or plumbing trades.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using estimating software, preferably Accubid.
