Assistant Manager – Direct Tax and Stats

About the role

The Direct Tax and Stats Assistant Manager will work as the team supervisor, responsible for team performance, motivation, skill development, knowledge transfer, and goal achievement. This will enable enhanced productivity, improved service quality, strengthened control and compliance, and the establishment of a scalable platform for growth and acquisitions within a centralized delivery model.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, support and coordinate the Direct Tax and Stats team, ensuring they have the right tools and resources.
• Monitor end‑to‑end project processes to guarantee quality, adherence to KPMG standards, and timely delivery.
• Provide regular feedback to team members to achieve global and individual goals.
• Manage administrative tasks such as vacation scheduling, timekeeping, hiring processes and resource allocation.
• Conduct 1:1 sessions to give constructive feedback, highlighting strengths and development areas.
• Act as a technical resource, offering expert guidance on complex tax, accounting and administrative issues.
• Review low and medium tax returns for regulatory compliance and KPMG quality expectations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, leading projects to boost team efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or a related field.
• Strong understanding of tax and accounting processes and financial statement analysis.
• Upper‑intermediate to advanced proficiency in English.
• Advanced skills in MS Office applications.
• Process‑focused mindset with experience coordinating teams to meet objectives.
• 3 to 4 years of experience working on tax, finance and accounting processes.
