Applied AI Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer across its workflow. As an Applied AI Engineer you will own and ship internal automation projects, turning documented roadmaps into production systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement agentic workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalents.
• Integrate Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, including tool use, function calling, and streaming.
• Develop internal tools that reduce manual effort in design and development processes.
• Build automation pipelines linking WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace, and internal CMS.
• Implement MCP server integrations as part of the broader AI stack.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands‑on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven track record of API integration with OpenAI or Anthropic, including function calling and tool use.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and basic cloud deployment.
• Fluent English for asynchronous written communication with a US‑based team.
