Advanced Paralegal or Attorney - Minnesota Workers' Compensation (Remote)

About the role

A U.S.-based law firm representing injured workers and injury victims, focused on workers' compensation and personal injury, is looking for a highly experienced paralegal or attorney to act as the right hand to its litigating attorneys on Minnesota workers' compensation cases (work comp and related tort claims against insurance companies). The role is fully remote, paid $10-$20 USD per hour, and is intended as a long-term engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare case files from start to finish, including legal research on Minnesota workers' compensation and injury law
• Review medical records and cross-reference them with the client's account of the injury
• Ensure each case meets the medical-legal standards needed to win in court or in settlement
• Make appearances on the attorney's behalf throughout the case lifecycle, short of trial
• Work under the direct supervision of, and in close coordination with, the firm's attorneys

Required profile

• Significant, hands-on experience with Minnesota workers' compensation cases or closely related injury and insurance litigation; recent graduates are not a fit
• Ability to manage a full caseload independently, including legal research, medical record review, case preparation and appearances
• Strong written and spoken English
• Based in Mexico, Central America or South America, available during U.S. Central or Eastern business hours
