Activation Executive, On Trade – Costa Rica

About the role

Diageo is hiring an Activation Executive for its On Trade business in Costa Rica, reporting to the Activation Manager or Commercial Head. The role turns approved commercial priorities into customer-centred execution across the assigned channel and geography, spending about 70% of the time in the market supervising activations, coaching distributor and agency teams and spotting opportunities to improve visibility, shopper conversion and rate of sale.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise activations, verify execution standards and build close relationships with customers, outlets, distributors and agency teams.
• Deliver approved activation plans on time and to quality, and recommend improvements to the Activation Manager, Commercial Planning Manager and Channel Managers.
• Manage agencies and suppliers day to day, and own the activation budget, including purchase orders, estimates and claims.
• Coach distributor field teams on execution standards and turn field observations into actionable recommendations.
• Support measurement and evaluation by documenting execution quality, customer response and learnings.
• Produce outputs such as the activation tracker, outlet visit plan, scorecards, opportunity pipeline, budget tracker, corrective action log and coaching records.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field, or equivalent commercial experience.
• Typically 3+ years in sales, activation, trade marketing, customer marketing or commercial execution.
• Experience managing agencies, suppliers and activation budgets, and working in distributor-led business models.
• Strong planning, organisation, problem-solving, communication and influencing skills.
