Accounting Intern

About the role

Huntsman is looking for an Accounting Intern to support its Inventory & Cost Accounting team in Heredia, Costa Rica for a one‑year fixed‑term assignment. The role provides hands‑on experience with month‑end close, inventory accounting, reconciliations and audit support in a shared‑services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with inventory and account reconciliations, gathering documentation and recording reconciling items.
• Support month‑end and quarter‑end close activities, including schedule preparation and journal entry assistance.
• Perform inventory analysis, aging reviews and follow‑up on obsolete items.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
• Contribute to SAP reporting, data validation and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.
• Availability to work on‑site in Heredia on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (additional days as needed).
• Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency (formulas, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP).
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools.
• Basic data analysis and reporting capabilities.
