Accounting Intern – Inventory & Cost Accounting Support

About the role

Huntsman is looking for an Accounting Intern to join its Finance Division in Heredia, Costa Rica. The role provides temporary support to the Inventory & Cost Accounting team, covering maternity leave and day‑to‑day accounting tasks while offering hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced shared services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with inventory and account reconciliations, gathering documentation and recording reconciling items.
• Support month‑end and quarter‑end close activities, including schedule preparation and journal entry assistance.
• Conduct inventory analysis, aging reviews, and follow‑up on obsolete items.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documents for internal and external audits.
• Support SAP reporting, data validation, and related automation initiatives.
• Help with accruals, inventory adjustments, and other accounting analyses under supervision.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.
• Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Ability to work effectively in a deadline‑driven environment with attention to detail.
