Accountant III – Inventory Accounting (EMEA)

About the role

The role is designed to become the subject‑matter expert for EMEA inventory accounting processes, covering Europe, South Africa and the Middle East. The workload is split roughly 50% operational activities and 50% projects/administrative work, with a focus on both accounting and analytical tasks for manufacturing sites, Tier 1 and Tier 2 warehouses, and consignment inventory.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the end‑to‑end owner of balance‑sheet inventory, including capital equipment, Irish manufacturing and transfer‑price variance.
• Manage profit‑and‑loss items such as purchase‑price variance, drop‑shipment sales, cost of goods sold and transfer‑price variance.
• Provide business analytics and translate financial data into clear narratives for finance, supply‑chain, FP&A and local finance teams.
• Execute complex account reconciliations, review and approve journal entries and internal controls prepared by junior accountants.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives, partner with global process stewards and mentor junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements, ethical standards and the internal quality management system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting or Business Economics.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant finance/accounting experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Self‑motivated, team‑oriented and able to take ownership of responsibilities.
