About the role

The Medical Emergency Technician provides direct support to physicians during out‑of‑hospital medical care and operates the advanced life‑support ambulance. The role requires rapid reporting of any vehicle anomalies, equipment loss, or medication issues, while maintaining empathetic communication with patients, families, media, and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the attending physician in delivering emergency medical care on scene.
• Drive and manage the advanced life‑support unit safely.
• Immediately report any ambulance damage, equipment loss, or medication discrepancies.
• Maintain clear, empathetic communication with patients, relatives, media, and team members.
• Contact the on‑call physician as directed by dispatch or medical direction.
• Operate medical and communication equipment correctly in each emergency unit.
• Participate in national emergency responses when required.
• Support the induction and training of new personnel.

Required profile

• Technical, diploma or university degree in Medical Emergencies.
• Minimum three years of experience in out‑of‑hospital emergency care.
• Member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
• Valid B1 driver’s license and certification in emergency vehicle operation (EVOS or equivalent).

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pre‑Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• EPC (Emergency Patient Care) certification.
• Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) certification.
• Basic Incident Command System knowledge.
• Proficiency with medical equipment and communication devices used in emergency units.
