Systems Development Engineer – Unified Communications

About the role

The Unified Communications team builds and operates enterprise software services used by Amazon employees worldwide. As a Systems Development Engineer you will design, develop, and automate scalable solutions, own the services end‑to‑end, and ensure high reliability across cloud and on‑premise environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain global software services, automation scripts, and infrastructure‑as‑code for platforms such as Slack, Zoom, Print, Fax and Telephony.
• Troubleshoot complex distributed systems, identify root causes, and implement permanent fixes while documenting findings.
• Design, build, and operate AWS and physical infrastructure, including storage solutions like SQL, DynamoDB, S3 and ElasticSearch.
• Create deployment pipelines, practice automated change management, and participate in on‑call rotations and large‑scale incident response.

Required profile

• 1+ years of professional DevOps or SysOps experience in a large‑scale software development environment.
• Strong experience with Linux/Unix systems and automation of infrastructure.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Java, C or C++).
• Fluent written and spoken English.
