Supplier/Planner – New Product Production & Material Planning

About the role

The NPI Production/Material Planner ensures timely material availability for new product builds from prototype through production release, supporting both internal manufacturing and global contract manufacturers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to plan builds for electrical, electromechanical, and mechanical assemblies.
• Manage multi‑level, high‑complexity Bills of Material (BOMs) and ensure accuracy throughout the NPI process.
• Work with domestic and international contract manufacturers on quotations, purchase orders, and material alignment.
• Coordinate material procurement for pilot‑line builds and proactively resolve shortages.
• Handle Engineering Change Notices, deviations, and RMAs/rework with suppliers and pilot line teams.
• Monitor lead times, capacity, and material status to meet internal delivery commitments.
• Maintain the Component Assessment file to track component health and highlight risks.
• Support phase‑gate deliverables and ensure planning activities are completed as products transition to production.
• Lead the handoff of new products to high‑volume manufacturing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of production or material planning in electrical/mechanical manufacturing.
• Proactive planning, strong leadership, and ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Fluent English.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• ERP and PLM systems experience (Teamcenter, Oracle, Rapid Response).
• Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts.
