Supplier QA Engineer II

About the role

Drives improvement and corrective actions in the quality of components sourced from external suppliers. Provides technical support in supplier selection, develops acceptance criteria, and monitors supplier performance to address manufacturing yield issues and field failures.

Key responsibilities

• Assess potential new suppliers for technical, quality and manufacturing capabilities.
• Provide technical support for the introduction of components from new suppliers.
• Generate and maintain incoming inspection procedures and train inspectors.
• Develop or source inspection tools and equipment.
• Assist in generating component specifications and test protocols, monitor testing, issue qualification reports and approve components for use.
• Provide input to Design Engineering on new component technology and assist in component selection with quality and reliability analysis.
• Analyze incoming material defects, disposition and drive corrective actions, communicating issues to suppliers.
• Review new design specifications and provide input on component quality and manufacturability.
• Investigate field failures related to supplier materials and develop corrective action plans.
• Support new product developments and review documentation related to suppliers and components.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Chemical, Industrial, Electronic, Biotechnology, Electromechanical Engineering or related field.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar supplier quality role.
• Desired knowledge of ASQ certification, strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• ASQ certification.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or equivalent continuous‑improvement methodology.
• Experience managing Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and Non‑Conforming Products/Processes (NCPs).
• Supplier pipeline management and performance oversight.
• Root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action planning.
