Staff Application Developer - Oracle APEX, Java & React

About the role

In Costa Rica, we are looking for a Staff Application Developer to join our Information Technology team in San José. In this role you will lead the development, maintenance and modernization of our global enterprise learning and educational software platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high‑performing web applications and microservices that support global e‑learning operations.
• Develop custom user interfaces and internal business logic using Oracle APEX and React.js.
• Build, optimise and integrate scalable RESTful APIs with Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Write advanced PL/SQL code, stored procedures and packages while optimising database performance in Oracle 19c/23c environments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional global teams using Agile (Scrum) methodologies and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure code quality through automated unit testing, code reviews and adherence to security best practices.

Required profile

• 5 + years of hands‑on experience as a Full‑Stack or Application Developer in enterprise settings.
• Proven expertise in Oracle APEX (Application Express) and PL/SQL.
• Strong backend background with Java and Spring Boot (REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate).
• Front‑end development experience with React.js (JavaScript/TypeScript).
• 100 % onsite presence at our San José campus.
• Advanced English (B2+/C1) for global communication.
