Software Systems Manager – ASIC/SDK Tools

About the role

The role is based onsite at an HPE office and leads the design, development, and support of software tools that accelerate the ASIC/SDK and post‑silicon engineering lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, mentor and develop a team of software engineers, handling hiring, onboarding and performance management.
• Define and own the roadmap for test tooling, traffic generation frameworks, hardware reservation systems, CI/CD pipelines and lab automation services.
• Provide technical direction on architecture, design reviews and engineering best practices to ensure scalable, reliable solutions.
• Collaborate with internal partner teams (SDK, Post‑Silicon, ASIC, Mechanical Engineering, Hardware) to gather requirements and resolve cross‑team issues.
• Oversee multi‑site lab and server infrastructure, including container‑orchestrated resources and capacity planning.
• Manage resources and budget for hardware, infrastructure procurement and vendor coordination.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to present technical strategy to senior leadership.

Required skills

• Software development: Python (preferred), C (valued), Rust (a plus).
• DevOps tools: CI/CD (Jenkins), Git/GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux server environments.
• Networking fundamentals (L2/L3, traffic generation, packet flows) and experience with ASIC/SDK or post‑silicon test environments.
